Summary

The Operations Project Manager coordinates with the Operations and Safety departments and is responsible for providing support with organizing and supervising remote operations.  The Operations Project Manager travels to field locations and provides feedback to the Director of Operations on safety, living and morale conditions of the crew.  This includes communicating with YHL flight crews and clients regarding operational requirements / difficulties encountered, including flight safety issues that are job specific.

Job Duties

– Operations

  • Liase requirements between clients and Yellowhead Helicopters Ltd.
  • Organize, support, and coordinate operations of clients with Job Managers, Pilots, Engineers, and Engineer Supervisors on an ongoing basis
  • Be on site at client location as required.
  • Work with the Operations & Maintenance to plan, maintain, and meet client requirements for aircraft, crewing, logistics, and updated schedules.
  • Arrange resources required for client projects (fuel, vehicles, Hangar, etc)
  • Provide updates, bring forward issues, and maintain clarity and transparency about the client and crew satisfaction with the CEO, DOO, DOMO, and any other necessary management.
  • Work with the On-site pilots and AMEs to maintain day to day operations, ie (important updates, meetings, extra training needed, crew needs, and ground crew operations)
  • Work with the training department to plan, and facilitate effective and efficient use of training period for new and recurrent Pilots.
  • Attend relevant events, conferences, and meetings pertaining to the client and YHL
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A well rounded knowledge of the Canadian Commercial Helicopter industry.
  • Extensive operational helicopter pilot experience (commercial).
  • Able to work with little or no supervision.
